Brooklyn Baseball Team
Baseball history photo: 1889 American Association Brooklyn Bridegroom BBC. The Bridegrooms, so named as four of their players were married after the 1887 season, won the 1889 AA pennant by two games over the St. Louis Browns. They were defeated by the National League Champion New York Giants, six games to three, in the first World Series between New York clubs. Brooklyn held a three games to one lead in the series before losing five games in a row.
